The shift cable for the reverse gear of the Ligier IXO, Optimax, X-Too R, X-Too RS, X-Too S, JS50 (Phase 1 to 4), JS50L (Phase 1 to 3), JS60 (Phase 1 and 2) and the Microcar Dué 2, Dué 3, Dué 6, MGO3, MGO4 and MGO6 is the mechanical connection between the shift lever in the interior and the gearbox. When you move the lever to the reverse position, this cable pulls the shift mechanism in the gearbox to select the reverse gear.
A worn shift cable for the reverse gear shows up as a lever that no longer moves smoothly into the reverse position, as a reverse gear that pops out while driving, or as a lever that feels heavy to operate. In all cases replacement is due: driving without a reliably working reverse gear makes parking and manoeuvring difficult. This shift cable is by Bonq and has a cable length of 80 cm.
