Moped car brake shoe

Brake shoes are the wear parts in the drum brake system of your moped car. When the brake is applied, the brake shoes are pushed outwards by the wheel cylinder against the inside of the brake drum. The friction generated in this process slows down the moped car and brings it to a stop. Brake shoes are the most frequently requested part within the drum brake system and are regularly replaced during maintenance. Typical symptoms of worn brake shoes are a longer braking distance or reduced braking force at the rear, squealing, grinding or scraping sounds when braking, a vibrating or pulsating brake pedal, the moped car pulling to one side when braking, a brake that does not release fully causing the wheel to drag or overheat, and visible wear of the brake lining on inspection. Always replace brake shoes for the left and right wheel at the same time for even braking performance. When replacing, also check the brake drum for wear and the wheel cylinder for leaks.
