The V-belt for the Lombardini LDW 502 Progress engine, including the Euro 4 version, is specifically matched to this engine family. The 710 mm length and 10 mm width keep the belt at the correct tension on the alternator and water pump pulleys. A belt that is too short runs too tight and accelerates bearing wear; a belt that is too long slips and squeals.
When replacing the V-belt, it is sensible to check the belt tensioner and the condition of the pulleys as well. Rust spots or grooves on the pulleys chew up a new belt in a short time. This V-belt is by Bonq and fits specifically on vehicles with the Lombardini 502 Progress engine, not on the older 442, 480 or 492 DCI engines.
