Oilfilter Lombardini 502 FOCS / Progress

The oil filter for the Lombardini LDW 502 FOCS and 502 Progress engines keeps the engine oil clean while driving. On every engine revolution the oil flows through this filter and dirt particles, soot residue and metal shavings are left behind in the filter medium. Without a working oil filter, that dirt ends up in the oil galleries, where it damages the bearing shells, the camshaft and the piston rings.

An oil filter is a consumable: like the engine oil itself, it saturates over time. Every oil change calls for a new oil filter, so that the new oil flows straight through a clean medium. Postponing replacement is a cheap way to invite expensive engine damage. This oil filter is by Bonq.
