Glow plug Lombardini 492 / 480 DCI engine

The glow plug for the Lombardini LDW 480 DCI and 492 DCI engine warms the combustion chamber briefly before the cold start. Diesel ignites through compression, but at low temperatures the compressed air is not hot enough to ignite the fuel directly; the glow plug raises the temperature inside the chamber until the compression takes over. Without working glow plugs, a diesel engine starts sluggishly or not at all in cold weather.

When the engine is hard to start at low temperatures, a grey smoke cloud comes from the exhaust after a long stationary period, or the yellow pre-heat light on the dashboard stays on longer than usual, one of the glow plugs is likely due for replacement. This glow plug is by Bonq and fits the Lombardini LDW 480 DCI and 492 DCI engine.

Suitable for the Ligier JS50 and JS60 series, the Microcar MGO and Dué series, the Chatenet CH26 and CH40 and related models by Grecav, Bellier, JDM, Casalini and Due with a Lombardini LDW 480 DCI or 492 DCI engine.
