Brake caliper right rear Microcar MC1 / MC2

The brake caliper on the rear right of the Microcar MC1 and MC2 is the part of the brake system in which a hydraulic piston presses the brake pads against the brake disc as soon as brake fluid arrives under pressure from the master brake cylinder. When you release the brake pedal, the piston returns to its starting position and the brake pads come free from the brake disc, so the wheel can turn smoothly again. This brake caliper is supplied complete with the matching brake pads.

A faulty rear brake caliper shows up as visible drops of brake fluid at the underside of the caliper or on the inside of the wheel rim (the seals inside the caliper are leaking), as brake pads that wear significantly faster on one side than on the other (the piston no longer slides back smoothly), or as a brake caliper that feels excessively hot or smells of burnt rubber after a short drive (the piston stays stuck and the brake pads keep pressing against the disc). This brake caliper is by Bonq, technically equivalent to the original part, and is supplied complete with brake pads.
