The brake caliper on the rear left of the Microcar MC1 and MC2 is the part that presses the brake pads against the brake disc as soon as you press the brake pedal. The rear brakes work together with the front brakes to slow the moped car down, and during braking they provide extra stability so that the moped car stays straight and does not slide. This brake caliper is supplied complete with the matching brake pads.

A faulty rear brake caliper shows up as a moped car that pulls to one side during braking (the left and right brake calipers give different braking force), as a handbrake that no longer holds firmly on a slope (internal wear inside the caliper, causing the pressure to fall away), or as a squealing or grinding sound from the rear left when driving at low speed.
