Starter motor Lombardini 502 FOCS

The starter motor for the Ligier Ambra and Nova, the Microcar Virgo 1 and 2, the Chatenet Barooder, Media and Stella and the Bellier Divane and VX550 with Lombardini LDW 502 FOCS engine sets the engine in motion at every start. When you turn the ignition key, the drive gear jumps forward and engages the flywheel; the electric motor then spins that flywheel until the diesel engine reaches its own running speed.

A worn starter motor is recognised by slow cranking during the start attempt, a clicking sound without the engine turning, or no reaction at all when you turn the key. In all these cases replacement is due: continuing to try puts unnecessary strain on the battery. This starter motor is by PlusLine and has a gear diameter of Ø 29.5 mm. Pay close attention to that size, because there are also versions with a different gear size.
