Piston Aixam Kubota Z402 (STD)

The piston for the Kubota Z402 engine in the Aixam 500.4, 721, 741, Scouty, Crossline and MEGA 2, the City, Coupé, Crossline and Crossover from the Vision, Impulsion, Restyled and Innovation series and the Minauto is the moving heart of the engine. On every combustion, the expanding gas mixture pushes the piston downwards, and that downward movement is converted through the connecting rod into the rotation of the crankshaft. This cycle repeats thousands of times per minute, which makes the piston a heavily loaded component.

This piston has the designation STD (standard size), meaning it fits a cylinder with the original bore. On a rebuilt engine where the cylinder has been bored out to oversize, this STD piston is not suitable; a piston in the matching oversize is then required. Piston replacement typically takes place during a major engine overhaul or at severe wear.
