Brake shoe fitting kit

The mounting kit for brake shoes contains the small parts you need when replacing the brake shoes in a drum brake. The kit consists of two springs, two mounting clips and two mounting pins; together they form the mechanism that keeps the brake shoes in position and pulls them back from the drum wall after braking.

When replacing the brake shoes, it is sensible to renew these small parts as well. Stretched springs no longer pull the shoes fully back, causing them to drag against the drum; this leads to wear of the new brake shoes and overheating of the drum. Rusted or deformed clips and pins also create play, which stops the brake shoes from sitting stably.
