Moped car brake disc

The brake disc is the part that the brake pads grip to slow down and stop the moped car. The disc is attached to the wheel hub and rotates with the wheel. A good brake disc together with the brake pads determines a short and reliable braking distance. Typical symptoms of a worn or damaged brake disc are vibrations in the brake pedal or steering wheel when braking, squealing, grinding or metallic sounds when braking, a longer braking distance despite new or good brake pads, visible grooves or scratches on the disc surface, rust on the disc on moped cars that have been standing for a long time, and a disc worn below the minimum thickness. Always replace brake discs for the left and right wheel at the same time so that braking force remains equal on both sides. When replacing the brake disc, also always replace the brake pads, as old pads have bedded in on the old disc. Always bed in new brake discs and pads by braking gently for the first few kilometres. When replacing, also check the brake caliper for leaks and corrosion.
